Creative Eckspression - Recycling

Do you have a need for a recycle logo? (Like the little triangular symbol to the left) I found a website that has many different recycle cliparts for copy and use. Go to http://www.planetpals.com/recyclesymbols.html
If you ever find yourself in need of a flower pot to put a new plant clipping in or to grow some starts by seed and don't have a "stock" of empty flower pots stacked up in the garden shed, here's an idea with an opportunity to express/explore your creativity and at the same time, do your share of reducing plastic waste by making something useable with it.

Check this out! It can take up to 1000 years for discarded plastic to degrade! The numbers are ever increasing, but look at the figures from 2003, only 12% of plastic bottles sold were recycled. . .leaving 40 million bottles a day that ended up as trash or litter. Every little bit each person does can help cut down on the ever growing (literally) "plastic fantastic" world being created. If you'd like to read more about this and/or read more unreal facts of our waste, just click anywhere on this "green" text and read the linked pages.

The "flower pot" pictured here is a finished example I made from a discarded 2 liter juice bottle. I guess I could put up a few more, different, photos to let you see what it looks like from different angles and if you approve of it being presentable enough to become a part of decor in your abode, patio, or garden, maybe you (and your group, if you're supervising, or teaching or heading a group in need of a green craft project) could just follow my simple instructions I've posted here. Bear in mind, if the project group consists of younger children, this may include some processes which should be handled by an adult or "someone responsible enough", I'll leave that up to your wise descretion.

The "planter" or flower pot pictured above was made from a plastic fruit juice bottle similar to the soda pop bottle pictured here.We had some friends come to visit which gave me the opportunity to have the slightly larger than small pop bottles. Most of the soda pop bottles we have around here are smaller than this one pictured, and they're the perfect size for new starts and seed starts. Right now, I'm in the need for smaller pots than the one pictured above (already made), to start some seeds. What I'll be working on is a one liter size pop bottle.

Materials Needed

  • 1 used, empty, plastic bottle
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 straight pin (or anything you can use to poke a small hole in plastic)
  • 1 pair of pliers
  • 1 propane torch
  • fingernail polish
  • potting soil
  • plant or seeds
  • overcoating (nail polish, spray lacquer, spray enamel-make sure it's compatible with polish)

*****
*suggestion(s) - *your choice of color(s)-should coordinate with the decor of where the planter will be placed

*if color doesn't matter to you, this is a perfect opportunity to use some older nail polish that's starting to thicken

* the thicker polish will give your planter texture.

Grab your plastic bottle and peel the label off. Some bottles peel off pretty clean, some leave behind a glue residue. If the bottle you chose to use leaves a glue residue, it can be washed off with soap and warm water or, if it's difficult, the glue will wipe off easily with some quick swipes of Goof Off on a rag. (You must be in a well-ventilated room!) Then, take your scissors and cut the top of the bottle off at about 1/4" higher than the height you'd like your planter to be to make one with a top like the one above. . .or a half inch higher if you'd like to turn your lip out, which is what I did with this one.

Now, we're ready to start shaping our planter...

Be sure you're working in a well ventilated area.Turn on the propane torch to a low flame (see picture). Remember, everywhere you start heating up the plastic, the plastic will start shrinking. You don't have to touch the flame to the plastic, if you touch the flame to the plastic, it will heat up so fast, it will turn the plastic white, then, will begin bubbling, and in no time turn brown then catch fire and turn black and drip burning plastic to the floor...and we don't want to do that. Anyways, like I said, just swipe the area of the bottle you want to shrink about 2 inches away from the tip of the flame, come back to whereyou started and swipe again, until you get a feel for how much the plastic is shrinking. Do this all the way around the bottle so your "planter" won't be lop-sided.

When you think you have the shape you want turn your soon-to-be planter upside down. You'll want to take your straight pin or anything you have that's sharp and will easily poke a small hole into the bottom of the bottle, just above where it rests on a surface. Do this 3 or 4 times around the near-bottom. These will be your drain holes so water won't sit in the bottom and get sour and kill your plant.

Now take the pointy part of your scissors and enlarge your pinholes slightly (you probably won't want to get much bigger than 1/4" wide...if you made a larger planter,(6"diameter) a 1/2" drain hole wouldn't be too big. Now you're ready to decorate your planter. You can paint it any way you like. I just like to dab and stroke. Unless you want the colors to run together, you might want to wait till each color dries before starting another color. Don't worry if you get too much color on your plant pot, you can always go back and scrape off the excess with your fingernail or a dull knife within 5 hours after applying it. That's a safe time, if you wait too long to take paint (nail polish) off, it will chip and you won't have much control of what comes off. You may want to put a clear coat on for a final finish and added protection. Test some of your nail polish on a piece of cardboard or paper then (if you buy clear spray paint) spray over the nail polish after it's dried, give it a few minutes and make sure your clear spray will set up. It will help to know if your nail polish is lacquer or enamel when you purchase your clear spray. Let it dry to touch. Now all you have to do is put your freshly moistened potting soil into the pot and plant your cuttings or seeds or plants. Then you're done, you've made a useful planter custom designed to fit your decor from a plastic bottle that was going to be garbage!

Golden Words - Butt Prints In The Sand

A few years ago, I was visiting my friend Jimmy and he handed me a new poem that had been passed on to him. At first glance, I thought it was that familiar "Foot Prints In The Sand", but I did notice the title said "Butt Prints In The Sand" and that piqued my curiosity so I read it and asked him if I could jot it down. Unfortunately, I don't know who wrote it so I can't give credit where it's due...it was signed "anonymous". I decided to put a little visual to it and offer it as another freebie that is printable. It would look nice if you burned the edges a little or get creative and line the edges with small sea shells, starfish, etc. and decoupaged it to a nice piece of wood and shellac or lacquer it, or if you want a shiny clear with depth over it, pour some polymer resin on it (this coats the seashells or other 3D items nicely). It would make a nice wall plaque for yourself or for a gift.

I had mixed "emotions" about the message of the poem, after all, He is a forgiving God with unconditional love for His children. It's almost inconceivable that a virtuous, patient Lord would turn His back on us, quit holding us up and actually give up on us. (Does the word enabling ring a bell?) Remember everything has its price (for every action there's a reaction), nothing is free, and that free ride won't last long if none are showing any benefit from it. (Hang tight, I gotta go on a tangent. . .Again, I can't help but relate to the parallel of a Nation of peoples riding on the skirt of the helping hand of welfare. If a people can't learn to become strong and hold it's own, the hand that's helping is only hurting in the end.) Guess "Butt Prints In The Sand" is a good example of how "God helps those who help themselves" and even His Lords at times have to withold sanction that we may grow and gain strength and learn to have faith in ourselves. If we can't have faith and count on ourselves, how can we have faith that someone else will come through for us? I believe it was Will Rogers who put it nicely ~"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." After all, it does hint in the book that has the final word in the Bible, Revelations, comes the time, those that will be with His Word, will come as warriors. Isn't it time we take control of our sails and take the direction that will move us closer to where we'd like to be, lest we just blow whichever chaotic direction any blowing-by force would have us. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to sit back and be passive, sometimes, the best route is to take action.

Golden Words - We The People

WE THE PEOPLE . . .
(Do You Question Authority?. . .)
Do you question authority or are you guilty of being a "sheeple"? Do you find yourself just accepting whatever is handed to you...laws, pay systems that keep part of your wages, paying with promisary notes, among other taken for granted "traditions"?
Isn't it time to open our eyes and find out what's really going on with our "government"? Did it ever occur to you that maybe we should just quit trying to "fix" what we feel is wrong and actually reseat our government to what it was originally set to be? Or maybe most of us don't realize what we call our government, is nothing even similar to what our founding fathers intended the United States of America to be.
I stumbled upon a website that discusses this matter, I encourage you to go to History of Problem to understand how the United States of America has come to where it is today. It implores us, as a people to "follow the truth. . .stop acting and communicating like you are anything other than the sovereign being that God created you to be." To "become a moral and honorable society instead of lauding our piety. . ." while standing guilty of "not knowing the truth", "not living the truth", and "believing we will somehow mysteriously be saved. . .and to use the tools we have at our disposal to save ourselves", our children, our country, "and become free."
So, in conclusion, this article gave light to the whys and whithertos, but what about a remedy? Seeing the unmasked corporations, perhaps we the people, the enemy, need to incorporate the truth through the courts? Like they did in order to overide previous decisions and set a precedence to become We The People again? Other suggestions? What's feasible? Leave your comment, we all need the input to form a remedy.

BOOK 4
by Shirley
I've added some drawings from my 4th sketchbook below. Unfortunately, my Sketches books 1, 2 and 3 are no longer available to me. I've lost some due to not being able to pay for my storage unit and one has been stolen. Some of the art in this sketch book is available for purchase. If you'd like to inquire about anything please Click here to get information to make an inquiry. All prints currently available are giclee, hand numbered and signed in pencil by me (the artist, Shirley). The originals are also hand signed in pencil. I also do custom orders. I am very versatile with medium and technique. If you can think it, I can draw it and am willing to work it until the finished product is what you envisioned. I am experienced with company logos, I can work with one you already have if you need a four color overlay done for use in advertising and for
company logo embroidery for promotional items or personnel. Maybe you just feel your logo is outdated and needs some new life put into it, or I can present something completely new and innovative to you. I've designed program covers and covers for published literary compilations. I can produce what you want. I've had customers come to me with an idea of what they want, I put it on paper and they see their idea materialize. I once had someone ask me to draw a portrait of their mother, who was overseas, he wanted her drawn younger than her present years and with different clothes and accessories than what was in the 2"x3" black and white picture he gave me to work with , yes...he wanted her in color. That completed portrait was done with oil pastels on an 16"x24" Grumbacher Watercolor Paper. If you can think it, I can draw it.

Golden Words - shirley_is-Kamikaze Notes A Tale of Traveling Tuza

o
_____________________

The Ultimate Lonely (on the Physical Plane)

OR

Nirvana (In Seventh Heaven)

?

(A Tale of Traveling Tuza from Kamikaze Notes)

"Soul Travel is the means the great saints have always used to find the secret kingdom of God
while still in their physical bodies." Quoted from "Eckankar~The Key to Secret Worlds

The master arrived, as he did every night while I drift and died. . . .Merrily, merrily , merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream. . . .

"Are you ready for our journey tonight?" I smiled up at the magnificent soul, "Yes, where will we go?" His smile seemed to have a mischievous twinkle in his eyes as he reached out his hand for mine. I held out my hand to be grasped by him and we soared upward toward the night sky, "Tonight, we will learn of the stars."

"The stars are not what they seem to be." We flew through earth's sky, the five atmospheres...as we passed through each, the Master explained that, being physical, the earth, too, had five outer bodies, like humans. (Macrocosm and Microcosm. . .As above, so below.) The big and the small of things, it's all relative. And like us, the earth has an energy field around it. It also has it's northern chakra (where energy flows in) and southern chakra (where energy flows out). Much like humans, those are the points from which any entry or leaving of the energy field should take place, lest the "skin" of the aura be pierced, allowing the entity to become vulnerable. The governments of the countries of earth have ventured into "space travel", however they haven't related the earths atmosphere to liken as ours. The many objects they've hurled out at any given point have pierced earth's protective "skin" and left "leaks" . The punctures have caused a disturbance within...It causes the ions to become excited and manifests itself in what humans see as the aurora borealis. We continually soared ever (it seemed) up, farther from Earth, through a vast darkness, a vast nothingness except twinkles of light points scattered throughout the dark. We traveled fast ... then suddenly it seemed one of those points of light looked as if we might be approaching it. Time does not exist in space. What looks like unspeakable distances from earth, is actually only a "blink of an eye" away. {I thought about light years. . .} We rocketed closer to the light, closer . . . closer . . . {the light is so bright}thinking {I need to shut my eyes} . . . (Funny how you become attached to human body parts . . . at that point, I was but an etheric gas "mist", the white raiment-or robe, if you will- of soul, that part of the image we all are made of the image of our creator". . .but I still have to shut my eyes :) but then it became even brighter, so brilliant, it encompassed my whole vision, I had to close my eyes but I could still see the piercing light grow even brighter and whiter through my closed eyes, the vibration of it ringing through my being. It brought on almost a tense, climactic excitement. Then it grew dimmer as we seemed to slow to a stop and stood before this great light of the worlds. My head was bowed, the Master told me to raise my head and study the light. "Look closely" There seemed to be a shadow of a form in the center of the light as it receded and dimmed enough for my "eyes" to look at it. Yes, there is a form in the center of it. "The stars are the Great Souls of the Universe that guide our way along the path back to The Supreme One" "They are only a dim reflection of the Great Soul from whence we all look to return". . .{only a dim reflection!} I thought, {yet, the light from this being was so brilliant and reached so far it was so immense but from souls on Earth appeared only as a pinpoint of light} I was humbled. The Master continued, "Yes, The Light of God is like a million of these 'stars' combined, a powerhouse of light and energy" "Look, closely, as you see now, the 'stars' in the 'heavens' are but the light of God's devoted disciples. What we see as stars peppered in the night sky are the great souls who populate the 7th plane or what some call the void." {Yes, space is a vacuum. . . I guess the vacuum would be a void . . . it never ceased to amaze me why we know things as we know them. . . it's kind of the semantics of language . . . it all boils down to our spiritual beings, soul and traveling back on the path [forgotten by many] from whence we all came to get home, back to One} {The void. . . isn't that where Buddha is?} The light had finally dimmed enough that I saw someone that seemed to be sitting with legs crossed, head bowed ,eyes closed, in contemplation. He remained undisturbed by our presence. {Very blissful.} I studied the peaceful being. "Do you see the peach he is holding in his hands?" I glanced toward his hands, resting in the center of his lap, they sat cupping a peach, it was plump and ripe. . ."yes" I acknowledged, "Take it from his hands." I reached out and picked up the peach. It was slightly softer than an ideally ripened peach and before my very eyes, the instant the peach left "the Buddha's" hands, it got softer and started to develop slight wrinkles in the fuzz as if moisture was drawn from it. "Place it back in his hands. Do you see the state of the peach? It aged as it left the Buddha's hands. As long as the peach remains in his hands, it remains in a state of suspended animation. In a state in which time does not exist. This is a very lonely world. Not many reach this state of existence. Very few souls make it this far. All that have passed this way have been instructed to take the peach from Buddha's hands. You saw how quickly it aged" {Not too many have picked up that fruit. . . in just the few seconds it was in my hands, it looked like it aged an unrefrigerated week.} That peach's skin presently reminded me of an 83 year old woman's facial skin, with it's fuzz and graceful wrinkles beginning to form. "The Buddha, unfortunately, has very few visitors. Few and far between. Yet all must pass this point on their path back to The Supreme Being" My being suddenly ached. . .{oh . . . what a lonely existence for an eternity} I thought I understood lonely . . . now I understood the ultimate lonely. "Don't feel pain for him, he and all other souls which make up the "stars" are quite happy, they exist in a state of constant bliss immersed in the love of God with no thought. They exist in the void." Then the light began to emanate from the Buddha's being again, it grew and became so brilliant again, we backed off, quickly, the piercing brilliance which enveloped me soon became a bright spot in an immense darkness. We stopped halfway back to Earth and observed the distant stars. . . "Those great souls are sentinels on the path back to The Great Soul from whence we all originate - their light, casting a beacon to all that would seek direction." My heart still hurt for all the billions of souls that won't find that path, that will never pass that way. . .it hurt for the lonely of Buddha.

"Although it is Bliss to exist at this level, there are other planes beyond this which we'll continue on with my next visit." And we sailed through space and there we were back in my room. I thanked the Master and expressed that I look forward to his next visit. Then he reassured me he never really leaves, however, there are others that need him and he faded and I woke up with a tight painful hurt in my heart. It will be nice to get beyond the lonely pain and be "oblivious" to the pain, knowing only the bliss of the Love of God for an eternity. And I thought about the many "stars" in the "heavens". . .and I thought about the novas and supernovas . . . .were they souls that didn't want to leave a carbon footprint any longer? Or were they souls that left the path and dreamt and thought and caused the existence of a physical world, waiting for all of it to return home to become one? I no longer have pangs of feeling lonely, after that journey, I realized my loneliness was so minute in comparison. I still feel pangs for Buddha's lonely sentinel in the sky. But I quickly look beyond it and remember the beyond of pure white light, and the music of all sounds creating the ecstasy and rapture of this existence we call life. Occasionally I'll relate some of my travels, my experiences during my travels when I was visited nightly, from 1979 through 1983, by my Master, my inspiration. ; )
May the Divine Wind forever blow along your path , Baraka Bashad

Love is the only thing worth speaking or writing. Love is the key to understanding all things. Loving ourselves is our gift to God. Gratitude for his love to us. There is only us. We are all holy. Self-Realization is knowing and living, remembering who we are . . .
The Mahanta, the Ancient One, returns again and again in one body or another to show us love, to remind us of who we are.

Golden Words - 50 Years of Resistance 1959 ~ 2009

If you'd like to read more about Tibet's struggle for freedom, click on the Title, "Golden Words..." above and visit "Free Tibet"

> > > > > > > o < < < < < < <

This blog is in honor of my friend, Pema, whom I had the honor of meeting while he was living out on Key Peninsula. Pema is a Tibetan monk who walked from Tibet to Nepal to retain his life, freedom, and beliefs. . . the ilk of what is him. I think he was 66 when I met him 7 years ago. March 10,2009 marked the anniversary of 50 years of resistance from China's repressive rule. While walking down his driveway, he had signs posted regarding his plight..."Free Tibet!" and the Tibetan flag (which is now banned under Chinese rule). Pema helped me get in touch with his landlady, Rivka, who owned a 39 acre piece of land that had a log cabin on it that I was interested in living in. I received some bad directions to get to his cabin and though I started at 10:00am, I didn't find his cabin till about 6:00 or 7:00(I didn't have a watch on, however the sun was getting ready to set when I finally asked for some kind of sign to find his cabin. I had walked up every driveway and trail way back into the woods looking for a log cabin with a Tibetan monk residing in it. Suddenly I noticed what looked like copper rocks which I followed and led me to his driveway. Well, I was able to skip a few driveways and it seemed the copper rocks were becoming fewer so I decided to check this one last driveway. After walking way back into the woods, I came upon a clearing and my hopes began to rise. But then I saw a bunch of lumber packages. . .guess someone was building a new house here...the path went a bit past it, so I walked further hoping that maybe his cabin might be snuggled back in the woods away from this new dwelling going up. After it began to look like there wouldn't be a cabin back there, I turned back and a pickup truck pulled into the clearing. It speeded up after they saw me. After it pulled to a stop, a man leaned out of the drivers window and asked what I was doing out here. I said "hi. . .this is going to sound crazy, but I'm looking for a log cabin that has a Tibetan monk living in it, you wouldn't happen to know which driveway is his, would you?" Then the blonde lady that was with him skeptically snapped back, "Oh, sure!" Then the man looked at her and said, "Now, wait a minute. . ." She shot a contemptous glare at him. Then he looked back at me and continued, "I think he's right up the next driveway down." I said, "Thank You, I've been looking for him since this morning. This was going to be my last shot, it's going to be dark soon." Then I started heading back up the driveway to the main road and 20 feet further into the next driveway. Oh, yeah, there was still an occasional copper rock in my path. . .I should have noticed the copper rocks didn't go into the clearing I was just in. Maybe it was the way the sun was setting or something, I don't really know, but it wasn't till I "prayed" that I noticed the copper rocks. I do know that nothing is coincidence. After getting well into his driveway, I started noticing wooden, hand painted signs posted up in the trees every 10 or 15 feet, almost like warning signs. I wondered if he would welcome my visit or consider it an intrusion. I finally came to an entryway to a garden with a two story log cabin nestled in the center of the groomed clearing. On the path to the cabin, there was a statue of Buddha sitting on a pedistal. There were four 6" rocks that had been placed around the base. On the trail of the copper rocks, I had picked up and pocketed three that looked like they wanted to come with me, so I reached in my pocket and pulled out the largest, about 3 1/2" and placed it at the base among the other larger rocks and bowed my head for a moment of respect for Buddha and thanks for reaching the destination. Now, it was time to confront the closed door of the cabin. I knocked, and heard a voice call out "Just a minute," and heard some shuffling around., "is it the blonde American lady from the newspaper?" "No," I called out. Then a slim, tanned man with short cropped hair opened the door. So I lowered the volume of my voice and said, " I'm the Japanese lady looking for a Tibetan monk." He said, "Oh, I'm expecting a lady from the newspaper was coming out here to write an article." I appoligized that I wasn't her and explained my presence. He came out and gave me a brief tour of the gardens and introduced me to his outhouse after I asked if he had someplace I could releive myself. While I was in there, he continued telling me about his vegetable garden on the other side of the cabin. When I came out, he showed me that garden and walked back to toward the entry way I came into. I explained the rock I placed at the base of Buddha. He nodded approval and invited into his cabin. After talking for a while, he offered a cup of tea as he put a pot of water on the stove. I graciously accepted, then he asked if I like to stay for dinner and I thankfully accepted his invitation, welcoming the rest after my long walk. We talked. He showed me his paintings, all done on hand woven hemp canvas. His clothes were also hand woven of hemp. I was pretty impressed that he could speak fluent Japanese. He told me he had earned his monk hood four (4) times. Each time, he left for a woman. He laughed, each time he returned to the solace the discipline and wisdom Buddha offered. I laughed. I receive emails from Beliefnet ~ Buddhism and they had a spiel on quotes from The Dalai Lama, so I thought I'd read them and gain some inspiration. Then I decided to check out the website for Free Tibet...I remembered those words on the signs sporting the Tibetan flag posted along Pema's driveway. I decided to share a piece of my blog noting Pema and the plight of the Peoples of Tibet and the Dalai Lama. The peoples of Tibet would only like to be able to say they're Tibetan and pursue their choice of spiritual belief. China would have them adopt the Chinese nationality and supportingly, follow the state. Basically that's what The Resistance boils down to. For that, thousands of monks and Tibetan citizens lost their lives to China's governing stronghold. After realizing the killing and oppression wasn't going to stop, many, including Pema and the Dalai Lama set flight on foot to leave their homeland, Tibet, that, through them, their cause will continue to live. TIBETAN DO AND WILL EXIST, and will not be denounced!
"Brute force, no matter how strongly applied, can never subdue the basic human desire for freedom and dignity. It is not enough, as communist systems have assumed, merely to provide people with food, shelter and clothing. Human nature needs to breathe the precious air of liberty. " The Dalai Lama

To live in suppression is to live in depression.

Golden Words - Do Everything With Love

This drawing is from my sketchbook, it is printable if you'd like some free art. It would make a nice wall hanging gift for someone if put in a frame or on a piece of wood and decoupaged.

Creative Eckspression - shirley_is for Poetry

Back in 2006, I was doing something on the internet like trying to get to that screen that I would be able to play games and even download some without being charged for it. . .for free, at least that's what they say to get you to check it out...(remember, nothing's free-somehow, some way, you'll pay) then if you see something from one of their sponsors that does pique your interest and you click on it, you will surely spend another half an hour finishing up their survey and going through their wares and sponsors...but I hadn't even finished the original survey I started to get the game I was wanting to play and that was over 45 minutes ago...Man...what a come-on! . . .Make me wonder abut my focus... anyways, I kept getting interrupted by popups wanting me to order this and order that. LOOK! LOOK! It was actually a head-turner when I got a popup for a free entry to a poetry contest with the opportunity to win $10,000. That sounded good, gotta try. Right? Seize the moment. But at that point, all those "barkers" did a pretty good job at making me weary and were beginning to work their way under my skin. So if you read my poem below that just effortlessly "poured"out of me, you can maybe understand where my head was at. Fortunately, the form of communication I was utilizing, poetry, just so happens to be one of the highest forms of communication us humans can engage in. Look at that, I was so disgusted with the carnival barking popups on the internet I was almost contemptuous writing my poem...but poetry is such a high vibratory rate. it still ended up making reference to the correct way to conduct one's self- to walk the path of least resistance. So, I thought...well, I could write a poem, and I followed the come-on. "Highway To Gold" was the result of that. (MAN! can I philabuster!?!?)

If you find it hard to read, click on the picture, it becomes a little easier;

or CLICK HERE and view the poem at Poetry.com

You can imagine my surprise when I an email came back letting me know that my poem was nominated to be published in the International Who's Who In Poetry. They get you so wrapped up in yourself, they just know you're going to want to buy one of those books because your poem is in it. . . but wait...then this offer wouldn't be free, would it? Forget the carrot. I wrote this on a whim....and. . . slightly with a bit of contempt. The swelling head had to read my poem again. Hmm . . . I guess it could be taken in a better light. Okay, I guess this turned out pretty balanced afterall.

Then, my boyfriend says,"You didn't just now write that, did you?" I had to look at him. . .he was right next to me the whole time. Then he says,"I bet you can't write one about you and me that quick." Of course I can. Pen in hand (again). . . . . . .

Proof

I wrote a poem to play a free game,
I submitted an address and gave them my name.
They had so many sponsors selling their wares
All hoping to e-mail more "e-nightmares".

One wanted a poem with cash to win
So I made up a poem and turned it in.
You challenged me - prove my ability
To conjure the words so you could see.

Make me a poem about you and me,
Then there'll be proof and believe it to be.
When will the tests quit?
Should I be docile, stay mum and submit?

No, babe, I'll forever respond
And continue to prove above and beyond
That when it is said, I say it true
..........(Hey Baby, get this . . . I love you!)

No, really, you can ask, if you must have the proof,
But don't put me out and leave me aloof.
If you don't want to hear what's hard to believe,
Just tell me to go and I'll take my leave.

I know that's not what you want to hear,
But you still raise your brow and give me that leer.
It's okay, I get that a lot
For my merits are hard-earned and cannot be bought.

And I understand that "it just can't be!
Someone like you spending time with me."
Check it out, it's me with you!
Isn't that funny, I think that too!

One day you'll trust what I say to be true
Just keep on checking to find that new view
Of occurances happening out of the blue
For. . .all things are possible with love.

; )

A few months later, I received another notification that I had received the "Editor's Choice" award....which of course offered me the "opportunity" to purchase the prestigious lapel pin. Oh boy! You'd think they could at least give you that. . . it's all . . . just carrots.
